My dad was born in Rochelle, Louisiana in 1913. His name was Harry Scott Jackson, son of Harry Winston Jackson and Gettie Idonia Bailey. I would love to learn more of Harry Scott Jackson. All I know is that he was a cobbler, and was killed around 1917. If you have any information about him, please let me know

A tombstone with a hand pointing up is also found on Jewish tombstones. The name “Rochelle” is also Hebrew. Somebody really might want to check into more of this town’s history.

We know the history. This town was on lumber mill property created by the mill when the mill closed the town was closed. The property is now owned by another lumber company. I don’t think any of these black people were Hebrew.
